Still nothing compared to a spark getting into a jar of gun cotton... Lets just say it's a good thing that glass jar was kept in a wood box (which valiently gave its life), and there is probally still a shard of glass in the ceiling of a particular lecture hall in Gilman

We used to do the same thing with dry ice in a 2-liter bottle in high school. A friend and I were in the chem room, and decided we wanted to try it. Unfortunately, both of us were only about 3 ft. away when it blew up - my ears rang for two days. There's
still a hole in the ceiling from where the cap blew through the tile.
