They just deleted a 6 page thread about it as I was reading through it. No one was really rumor-mongering in that thread, it appeared to be a fairly civilized conversation without any namecalling or other nonsense. Those guys over at HN must just be hoping that if they keep sweeping it under the rug long enough that it'll go away.
