Not being from Iowa, over the last 10 years of living here I've come to realize that if the media outlets in Iowa can find a link between any one significant person or event with the state of Iowa... they will.

To some extent is seems pretty sad; especially when it's "so-n-so's brother's big sister who holds the world record for eating the largest footlong sandwich once had an uncle with a dog that bit a guy that used to live in Adair County, Iowa..." kind of things.

But at the same times makes me happy to see something of true significance (i.e. Shawn Johnson) get a good amount of attention here. She is a gold medalist... best in the world (and did it without lying about her age I might add) so I say give her all the attention that goes with it.
