The only way we're going to improve the running game is through repetitions--and the best place to get those reps is in real game action, against a live opponent rather than your own scout team. A physically dominating offensive line is the best weapon we could have in this conference--not least because of the manifold ways it takes pressure off a defense.
And the biggest point is, we're not going to stop 'em. Oh, maybe one day, but not here, not now with a defense still in the first stages of transition to
Team Chizik. Right now, we just try to slow them down, keep 'em within striking distance. That might be a mere 24 or 28 points, I don't know.
Then it's the offense and special teams' job.

A step in the right direction. And take it on step further, even more importantly--create turnovers. We are leading the conference in turnover margin. Go with your strengths. End of story.
Try taking the game to them. If you lose, don't lose due to fear.
Amen. nothing to lose--and everything to gain. No reason not to let it all hang out. What, we're saving something for Nebraska?
This was the only part of the post I quibbled with:
Sneak Bates in a two backfield set...
It's kinda hard to "sneak" a guy in when he wears a jersey #7, especially since that's the number the quarterback is wearing in our game film for the last four years.
