In relation to the money being spent to upgrade JTC and to close the bowl, I'd like to remind everyone what a terrible scar
ISU accepted as it's winning proposal to add buildings in front of Hilton.

Hilton is a masterpiece, a building that stands on it's own. It's a tribute to the ancient temples that started sport and should not be covered up with large glass boxes that take away from that monumental approach to Hilton.
I understand the need for upgraded facilities, but this is not the answer, and I hope Pollard, Dean Morton (sp?), and everyone else realizes what
ISU has and really comes through with better answers to this architectural question. This is unacceptable!!!
You ever see the ancient temples/buildings for yourself? Didn't think so. All we've got to go on are the modern day renderings. And from the majority of the modern-day renderings, all of those buildings, including the Acropolis among others, only appeared to be stand-alone from one side. All of them had buildings attached. So it can be argued that Hilton resembles them even more now that it's not a stand-alone.
As far as Hilton looking like a throwback to classical buildings, I've NEVER thought of it as a classical throwback, and I never will. Sure, it has columns. So do most of today's skyscrapers. Are those classical throwbacks? Didn't think so.
I'm all for the upgrades.
