I think
ISU's offense is set up to score enough points to win a typical Big 12
MBB game. With a better shooting and perhaps some better shot selection, the 'Clones would have had over 70 today. I'd like to see more scoring in the paint, but
ISU just doesn't have the players at this time to do that. I think the problem in this game was the first half defensive effort.
If I were a coach, my "philosophy" for the Big 12 would be to recruit and design the offense and defensive schemes to score 70, and give up 60, with the key being holding the opponent in the 60-point range. If the scheme can get it going and score 80 or 90 on a few nights, so be it. But the defense always has to be there.
