Santo: "Gallagher pitched a whale of a game yesterday."
Really? 6 IP, 5 ER? That's a whale of a game?
Zambrano says he feels great after a throwing session. That's something.
He really didn't throw that bad of a game. The Sox capitalized on pretty much ALL of his mistakes. I really think he is going to get much better and next year could be a great starter, though probably not with the Cubs. That is how it always works anyway.
What do Cyclone fans and Hawkeye fans have in common?
Neither one ever attended the University of Iowa.
I didn't think Gallagher pitched that poorly. He got beat on some pretty good pitches. The HR he gave up to Dye in the first was on a good pitch. The 0-2 double he gave up was bad, but Lou gave him an ear full after that.
I've been pretty impressed with him so far. He throws hard and he's a competitor.

The Cubbie culture is starting to embrace winning these days. I think we're turning that old tradition of players excelling after they leave around
Okay, CrossCyed, where was your superhuman Anderson on that one?
Green hills for thy throne, and for crown a golden melody
Ringing in the hearts of all who bring thee love and loyalty
Dear Alma Mater, make our spirits great True and valiant like the bells of I-O-WA STATE!
That one was hit pretty damn hard to straightaway.
I still think he's top 5 MLB defensively out there. He played it perfectly off the wall.
Anderson plays as shallow as anyone.
I'm just giving you crap, since all you've talked about all weekend is how crappy Wise was.

Ozzie has them platooned the wrong way. Wise should be in against lefties, Anderson against righties.
There was actually an article, put out by Baseball Prospectus I believe in '06, that had Anderson as the best defensive CF of the century to that point in the year.
