Kobe loves soccer and was even allowed to practice with FC Barcelona in Spain. Could you imagine KG in goal? How would anyone score on him? However, I think the biggest thing that the US can do is actually do a better job of scouting our own country. There are a ton of immigrants who are too poor to play in the organized ODP (Olympic Development Program) and if you aren't in that, you aren't in the National Team player pool.
As far as the reffing goes. For this game it definately makes a bit of a difference what color shirt you are wearing. The Mexicans are getting away with a bit more, and we are getting yellows a bit easier than I would like. I'm not gonna complain because they were all valid calls, it just seems like it is a bit one sided.

You say they were all valid calls, then how can it be one sided? Quit ********. Usually you have to look a little farther than the next sentence to find someone contradicting themselves. |

In the countries that take soccer seriously, its the singularly dominant sport in a way that just doesn't compare to anything over here. The newspapers, TV channels and everything are all soccer 24/7.

I think what he said makes perfect sense, the yellows on the US were legit and some of the calls or lack there of on Mexico were not.

Usually I like to proof read what I'm saying. However I am watching the game and trying to miss as little as possible. So yeah, what I said came off really bad. I tried to say they were valid calls, it just seemed to me that the US was getting the harsher end of the spectrum than Mexico was.
And you are right, I love TH in goal. I was just using KG as an example of an elite athlete who doesn't play soccer.

Where is our possession this half? We aren't holding onto the ball at all.

Mexico ALWAYS comes out strong. This was to be expected. What is not expected is them keeping it up for this long. Usually it evens out a bit after the opening 10 min.

Nice ball to Davies, I thought for sure he was going to get his second on a nice diving header, just missed the ball though... heres where we can start applying the pressure and put another one in

I don't watch a lot of soccer, but that seemed like a pretty weak foul.
| I should probably change this, but I think this picture is kind of funny. |
