    Taps for Neb

It would be great to fly the Neb & CU flags at JTS at half mast this year. Then if we could beat Neb have the band play taps and lower their flag and burn it.

riiiight. How about we don't even fly their flags, or burn them. Booo them the whole fricking game, beat their *****, and forget about them. Taps??? A song of respect for a fallen comrade? I think not. How about "I will survive." Its words are fitting, especially, "you're not welcome anymore."

I think it would be a great idea for ISU to take a lead and show the two schools some respect and do something for them. Almost like a coach leaving a school after a long time.
You see it all the time in professional sports, why not do it now?

For what it is worth...I am not happy about them leaving...mainly Nebraska. Could care less about Colorado!

God, some of our fans LOVE GETTING KICKED IN THE NUTS. Its like they relish the role. Nebraska almost single handedly relegates us to C-USA and some people want to throw a going away party for them. REALLY???

Very true...we almost got kicked to the curb. But I also look at the tradition between the schools, not the W-L record, just the tradition of years of playing. I grew up close to the NE border and all I heard about growing up was the Huskers, not fun. Not a big fan of them, but I still love the Big 8 Conference and the original Big 12. Hate to see them leave and know that we will probably never play them again in FB and many other sports!

That is their problem. I hope they find themselves in the BigTen cellar for the rest of eternity. For ONE DAY a year, count me a Hawkeye fan. (though if it could end in a 0-0 draw with lots of turnovers and injuries I would be satisfied).

Kind of odd to me that Colorado gets a free pass, everyone singing kumbayfreakingya with them? I can't stand their program and quite a few of their fans.

Colorado leaving didn't nearly destroy the Big 12. I'm not happy they're leaving, but the only thing i'll really miss is the additional tally in the W column for all sports.

I would have to say the opposite. I've been to 2 games each in Lincoln and Iowa City. In the games against Nebraska, other than the usual good natured taunting, I never once felt my safety threatened. The Husker fans I came across there were nothing but cool to us.

Not the case in either game (2000 & 2002) in Iowa City. I have never been surrounded by more dirt bags in one place at one time. And that includes East-Sider night at the State Fair. It will be a cold day in Tucson before I root for the talkeyes in anything.
