Not sure why I feel this way...but I don't read that as it being much of a slam? Maybe the coach is being honest. That said...it would be embarrassing to the KU program...but it just might be the truth? Yikes!

I feel there may be a ban on all things Missouri Valley Conference in Lawrence. The colors purple, gold, and green may be banned as well.

Hard to believe they won the Orange Bowl 3-4 years ago...Serves them right for doing that stupid wheat thing with their arms when they score. I hate that.

Talk about a writer spinning the words. I don't see the comments as a slam either. Plus if the writer had any clue about UNI, they would think twice than discrediting their athleticism in comparison to a Big XII school.

I think the coach is correct in saying that UNI will be more hostile and more physical as a game. When you don't show up to play a game and only put 3 points on the board, what kind of game do you expect.

Yeah, he's pretty much right on. But that's got to hurt if you're a Kansas fan, given where your team was a couple years ago.

Lets compare the venues...

The UNI Dome will have 16,000 fans this weekend. Memorial Stadium in Lawrence will have 16,000 fans this weekend.

The UNI Dome will have fans yelling and screaming, and showing school pride. Memorial Stadium in Lawrence will have a group of people with one question on their mind... "I wonder what Bill Self is up to?"

The UNI Dome can hold in noise with its roof. Memorial Stadium can't hold in 1,000 fans before the end of the game.

It was a complete slam - althought I don't think Bohl meant it to be.

I don't think you can use the word "docile" in describing the crowd environment at KU and not consider it a slam. And he flat out said that KU isn't as good as AA UNI.

True or not (true) that's a slam on KU as well. If it were said about us, we would have people on this board who's heads would melt.

Just because it's true, doesn't make it not a slam.

I agree. I'm sure that Memorial Stadium was really rockin' with the display the home team was putting on. Anyone who has ever been to a game in the UNIdome knows that it doesn't take much for that place to get loud.

His statements were accurate. I'm sure Turner would agree.

Nothing to see here.

Sounds like typical coach speak to me. Pump up the team that you're about to play.

That being said, I completely discredit the writer. I still call it division 1aa as well, but if I'm writing a journalistic piece, I'm going to make sure I'm using the now correct FCS.

That is definitely a slam. He insulted their fans, their stadium, their team's lack of aggression, etc. In the world of coachspeak, where everyone compliments each other that is pretty harsh. Honest though, which I like!
