Re: Big XII likely to have 10 teams in 2011
The Big 12 has stopped disbersing revenues to the two schools as a way of recouping those departure fees. But because the departure fees cover a two-year period, the Big 12 has already paid Colorado and Nebraska revenues for the 2009-10 school year that will need to be paid back to the Big 12. That figure is estimated to be a total of $15 million to $20 million.
Nebraska has indicated it will not pay any money back, alleging the Big 12 was not damaged by the Cornhuskers' departure and, in fact, benefited financially
I see that NU still hasn't figured out that the damages specified in the Big 12 bylaws are liquidated damages, and as such, IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT THE REAL MONETARY IMPACT IS!

Good. It is absolutely a waste of time for CU to hang around.
I am really, really interested to see how the schedules work out. ISU got absolutely butt raped with the B12 schedule it has now with OU and TU in back-to-back weekends on the road.
I'm hoping to see...
1.) Conference games starting in week 2
2.) KSU as our permanent final game of the season on Thanksgiving weekend (not in Arrowhead)
3.) Mizzou game in November still
4.) At least 1 bye week
5.) Utah dropped
6.) 5 home/4 away games synced up with the Iowa game

Funny how Nebbie won't stand up and honor their Big 12 contract/commitment. My guess is that they are just trying to tie everything up in mediation/court until they get their check from the Big10.
I figured the best way to go about it would have been for the Big 12 to just stop issuing checks to Nebbie, but that must not be the way it works.
I kind of hope Nebbie makes a BCS bowl this year, cuz I'd like the large payout for the conference...

They're probably going to drag it out until they're eligible to start raking in that Big Ten Network money. Or maybe they will get to a BCS Bowl this year and just write a check and be done with it.

The campaign starts now. November 6, 2012. -

I would love to just have post-Thanksgiving be a permanent bye week or road game.

Make it Texas than. Make them play in the cold. If we get Oklahoma and Texas back to back again, let alone on the road, its going to be a very rough go around. Every other year having to do that is just going to kill us. Guess if you want to be the best, you gotta beat the best.
Edit...I forgot this weekend if the weekend that Texas plays A&M

Re: Big XII likely to have 10 teams in 2011
Neither CU or NU will end up paying and/or having revenue withheld to near the dollar figures that keep getting thrown around, it is all posturing for the negotiations that are taking place. Just as Nebraska saying they aren't paying and CU saying they are staying until 2012 is all part of the jockeying.
