Re: I guess it's safe to say that Husker ...
I couldnt agree more. i mean Martinez is a freshman and is going to make mistakes. He had a lot of hype last week following Washington and maybe it got to his head a little. Bo is dead on in saying it was a reality check. We now know we cant not go out on the field, not play our best football and expect to win. We had a bad game, plain and simple. There were bright spots (David's 19 tackles, Interceptions, Burkhead looked good) but as a whole we were off. If this were to happen next thursday, i guarantee were sittin at 4-1. but ots a wake up call and i would not want to be at practice this week. hell work em. Im interested to see how the LB stack up against thomas. Hes a guy who can really make you pay with missed tackles. The run defense hasnt looked like what it was last year, losing Suh hurt. but what has hurt the most is losing compton and fisher. Those guys played all of last year and palyed pretty well. Losing those two guys has forced us to start guys who are inexperienced. we will gradually get better as these guys get more experienced. I think a big key tho is d line penetration. Guys like Crick, allen, moore, meredith, they need to make some stops in the backfield so that our young linebackers dont have to make all the tackles because thats setting you up for mistakes. I think there will be some shaky moments thursday but the huskers get the win 31-14.
