Of course, we were 0-6 up to that point and that win snapped the nation's longest losing streak, but we still rushed the field on a one-win team.
By the way, that game was the last time I remember us being able to actually tear down the goal posts at Jack Trice. I also believe that was a homecoming game. That was my freshman year and I'll never forget it. I'm also pretty sure you are right about it being the last time we were able to tear the posts down. The following year we upgraded to the super tough ones that are almost impossible to tear down.

I'm happy that we didn't rush the field on Saturday.

They are not almost impossible to tear down. So far the ARE impossible to tear down.
Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

I don't condone them storming the field (and neither do most of the CU alums and staff that I know), but this was a big win for CU for the reasons you mentioned. First, Georgia is 1-4, but they are pretty talented and this was the first game back for their best player AJ Green and he was incredible. Second, there are a lot of disgruntled fans over the coaching of the program with rumors that Hawkins could be replaced at any moment. This win saved his job for a while. Third, Georgia game out in force for this game and were loud! The Bulldog fans got there early and didn't leave at half with a re-entry pass. Finally, the 1990 Title team was honored and it was a pretty big deal in Boulder all week long.
Lets not kid ourselves, if Georgia came into Ames this season and the Cyclones won, our fans would be on the field.

we haven't had a coordinated enough effort yet... they got twisted out of shape a few years back but they just torqued it back into place...
About the time people were figuring out how to twist it they kicked us out
Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!!! In Accordance with Prophecy -

Re: Dear Colorado
Greetings from Boulder, as a non-field-stormer I can say I wish we'd stop doing it. That said if you really stormed the field after beating Texas tech you need to keep your advice to your self. Tech is terrible, possibly the second worst team in the big-12.
"Don't argue with an idiot, he'll drag you down to his level and beat you with experience."
