I feel a little bit sorry for Gill, knowing how hard it is to bring back a program that's in disarray. That said, I still hope we stomp them by 4 TD's or more this weekend. Go State!

The media stokes the fans, so this is what you get- lots of stupidity... Turner Gill has the potential to be a very solid coach.

Kirk Ferentz won 2 games his first season, now he makes 4 million per year....

Not sure what all the issues are/were at KU, but they had 13 wins total the two years prior to Gill showing up with a bowl victory in 2008, compare this to what Chizik did at ISU and what Rhoads is doing now and it is clear to me we got the right guy. Keep em down, we need someone in conference we can win against year in and year out - lets start Saturday!

I stand corrected he only one 1 game. If ******* iowa fans can survive this, then kansas media and fans should grow up. Do you think KU would like to have KF?

I don't know the exact details, but when hayden fry took over at iowa he did (at least) one thing GREAT:

He beat the teams he was supposed to beat. He beat Iowa state 15 years in a row, Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern... can't remember who all. Beat them year in and year out. then they beat the other cupcakes on their schedule. they usually played the good teams close and the great teams respectably- but still got blown out here and there despite..

Bo Pelini said Neb goal when he got there was to dominate the Big 12 north.

In other words... CPR: this is the type of kansas team that we need to put our foot on their throat. Winning isn't for everyone. Kansas had their day. Now its ours. We are ahead of them. Nebraska is leaving. K-state will be humbled once old man snyder leaves. We passed Missouri in the bowl placement last year. And so forth.

Pound those weak teams into the ground. Build victories. Back-to-back bowl games would. be. awesome. This is a new era in cyclone football. A time to turn the corner. We're getting a new TV contract and (hopefully) a bunch more money. Bowl games will also bring more money. Win big on saturday and knock KU back another notch.

Go Cyclones!

I'm sure Gill will be fine if they give him enough time. Seems like programs are about 1/2 way through their downward spiral by the time they switch coaches.

i don't see how screaming hey they are (insert 10 swear words here for emphasis) holding! ... helps.

1/2 the coaches scream and hollar on the sideline... the other half don't. But they still get their point across.

Then after Bo said that, he loses to Iowa State at home. Did you know that nebraska hasn't beat a top 20 on the road in 13 seasons? Its been a long time since nebraska has been a factor.

Hayden Fry was only 1 for 4 against ISU starting out.

Its a valid opinion, was just making a little light of it based on your enthusiasm in this thread...but when you are winning the biggest game of the program's history you are going to get a little excited if you get the sense you are getting the hose job from from the big machine. If he lost his cool after the game was lost (Larry Eustachy) or remember the UNLV Coach that wouldn't leave the field? - defiinitely not cool, but calling out some home town cooking during the course of the game is exactly what I expect of a coach swear words or not.

I was and still am a Turner Gill fan but I am glad he didn't come to ISU. I know now he wasn't the right coach for us. Rhoads is and should be here A LONG TIME. Gill chose a BAD time to go into the situation at KU. He will struggle there and I really don't see it ending well either. I want to feel sorry for him but remember Cyclone fans: the days of sympathy from Iowa State football teams are over. The minute we start feeling sorry for KU, they'll beat us. I want to see them and CU at/towards the bottom every year or at least on the losing side against us bcuz ultimately they are our competition. I will be happy with any victory, just win, but I wanna beat them by 30 points. Every year. Stop feeling sorry, but don't laugh at their misfortunes either (karma.) just go out, prove we're better and go about our business. Go Cyclones! My week of living it up in FL is almost over, sad to see it go, but I can't wait to see you all Saturday! Let's make it a Homecoming/Halloween to remember, in a good way!
