A&M might not make a bowl game in a Big 12 season that has ISU and Baylor in the driver's seat of their respective conferences in November. Think about that. They will be Mississippi State 2.0 in the SEC. I've been to College Station. No amount of $ will bring those guys to subject themselves to utter failure year in and year out. A&M will make plenty in the Big 12, and they at least have a fighting chance. In the SEC they will get steam rolled.

I think that something is up. Texas was doing whatever it could over the summer to schedule ND and BYU over the summer and now this. Texas could give a rats *** about anyone but themselves, soon OU and Texas A&M will get sick of it and leave. Was it confirmed as to what would be shown on this network?

Again, everyone assumes this, but WHY? No one has said WHY. I've asked this question throughout all of this conference expansion bologna, never gotten much of an answer, and lo and behold, Armageddon is yet to come.
Newsflash: OU and A&M are gonna make bank too. What makes you think Texas isn't courting ND and BYU rather than trying to join the ranks of the independents? Being in the Big 12 only benefits Texas. There is no negative. They don't share any of their money, and they have convenient, reliable scheduling against schools they've played for years, as well as providing a guaranteed auto-bid if they win.

Sounds great, but I give two craps less about any other team aside from ISU. How does this new Big 12 benefit ISU? And is it a greater benefit than a new Big East would be with ISU, Mizzou, KU, and KSU that brings the Des Moines, KC, St Louis and Wichita markets?

Maybe they can use their new money to buy some decent statues.

I'm not saying that the current Big 12 is better than a new Big East.
I'm saying that Texas has no reason to go Independent if the rest of the Big 12 sticks around.

Texas would seek to become a national team with a national schedule, ala notre dame but with stellar in state recruiting and their own giant tv market.

The Big 12 will continue to exist.
Texas will not give up the Big 12 revenue on top of it's own network.

If that network takes off, Texas may very well give up that Big 12 revenue in favor of scheduling marquee games in an Independent schedule where they can air nearly every game on that network. They'd could conceivably make lost "Big 12 revenue" pretty quickly and then some if the thing takes off.

Whatever the case, do not trust Texas.

Re: ESPN to pay Texas $12 mil a year for Longhorn sports
or...they are making overtures to BYU/ND coming to the league that Texas is already in.

All of the other sports still need a conference.

Can anyone tell me what the big deal is with 2015? I see Beebe was extended through 2015, is this when the new tv deal is suppose to take affect? I was just wondering as everyone references 2015 with the Big 12.
