Unless something was wrong, why would TMar feel the need to call his daddy? During a game, TMar has a daddy, and his name is Bo Pelini. I think its great Bo ripped him.

To that extent? Martinez is only a redshirt freshman. At least do it in private, don't berate the kid in front of a national audience.

I am certainly no Pelini supporter and I agree with the suggestion that he is embarrassing Nebraska, but any college football player who is not seriously injured should not be calling his dad during the game.

That's just crazy. Of course, I wouldn't have done what Pelini did either.

Some speculation that the ankle injury was the reason, being pressured to play and further damage to the ankle. TMart questioning the medical staff not having his best interests in mind and being told by Bo to get him on the field.

That's just it though. Mexican Jesus did go into the locker room and may have been seriously injured. A player has a right to call a parent and tell them if they are OK. No need for someone to be worrying about their child, even if it is just a game. And if Pelini forced Mexican Jesus to go back into the game with the risk of making the injury worse and endangering his career, the call is more than justified.

not sure why the Mexican Jesus nickname is coming up...the kid is not even hispanic. Just has a hispanic last name. It was explained in an article the week we played them. Something like his dad's mom married a Martinez after a divorce and TMarts dad ended up taking the stepdad's last name.

I think a call to Daddy could have waited... I'm guessing texting and making phone calls during a game could be considered a little disrespectful to the rest of the team? I hate bo - but these kids sometimes have to remember not to act like kids.
