I don't believe Beebe for one second. Everyone knows Nebraskans don't know how to use e-mail

This is the same tool who back in June said that a new TV deal was in the works that would double the football TV revenue. Six months later and we're still waiting to hear the details of this new marvelous TV deal that for the time being keeps the Texass League from imploding.
If Beebe was really that concerned for his safety, he could've sent Ed Stewart, a former Husker who's now in the Big 12's front office. You do understand that the television contract has and was always going to be negotiated this off-season right? Beebe's claims were related to discussing with the networks what the market rate would be.
You are right. It's still just "a promise" with no substance yet. But it wasn't going to come until this off-season.
The campaign starts now. November 6, 2012. -

Re: Osborne: Beebe and Big 12 "don't feel safe" in Lincoln
Beebe is a coward. He's going to be up in the suites for the game anyways. Pretty sure if there was actually a credible threat it was going to come from some backwoods feller sitting in the nosebleeds. He just doesn't want to show his face in Lincoln because he knows how painfully obvious the officials made the fix in the A&M game. I hate all things Nebraska, but the officiating in that game was criminally bad. Anyone who disagrees has goggles permanently fixed to their face.

Re: Osborne: Beebe and Big 12 "don't feel safe" in Lincoln
There were some bad calls, and esp the last interference. However, most were accurate and if you spend the evening ticking off the refs...
Bad calls and inferring a conspiracy or a fix, are way different.
Also, read the story, if the article is true, he had reason to be concerned.
Do I agree with him, no, frankly he got ISU in some of the position it was in last summer and he does at best a medicore job.
However, the response from Osborne (if not take out of context) is the most outrageous part.

Yup, pulling hard for Oklahoma State/Oklahoma/A&M.

So between the Pelini Bros antics and now this I imagine it is not making the front office of the Big 10 happy - too bad .

I'm torn here:
On one hand, I see why this is posted here, since it concerns Beebe and the Big XII North title.
On the other hand, Nebraska is the Big 10's problem now. Shouldn't we consider moving this thread to the "General College" category?

Osborne: Beebe told him Big 12 wasn't at game to hand out North trophy because "they didn't feel safe'' after week of mail from NU fans. Do you blame him? The head coach and his brother act in a way that I would highly advise any parent having their kid play for the ***** hat to give their son rabies vaccine before he heads off to kNU.
The players are cheap shot artists who learn from their coach........OR.....the parent forgot to get their son his rabies shot prior to playing for Mr foam in the mouth. Lord knows Martinez face was soaked with that foam on Prime time.
The fan base.....Look at them. Buffalo's are in most of their family tree's and anybody whose been around a ticked off buffalo knows to stay away from the ticked off buffalo..........
Just sayin...... -

They are still a member of the big xii, ie that's how they play in the championship game... Also why we will get to beat them a couple more times in hoops. You do remember basketball season right?
I don't do signatures. Blondes, brunettes, and red heads are a different story. -
Re: Osborne: Beebe and Big 12 "don't feel safe" in Lincoln
Just another in a long series of lies by Dan Beebe.
If he had received "threats," the authorities would have been called in, voice mail messages would have been traced, e-mail messages would have been traced and arrests would have been made. Period!
To further complicate Beebe's lie, Ed Stewart, a former Nebraska player, is on the staff of the Big 12 Conference in Dallas. If Beebe was concerned for his own personal safety, he certainly could have sent Stewart, who would, no doubt, have been well received by Nebraska fans.
Beebe is simply a coward. In his eyes, the conference never makes a mistake. Mike Sherman issues an apology for his player digging and scratching (and who knows what else) at Ben Cotton's private parts at the bottom of a pile and Beebe makes a public statement saying there was nothing inappropriate about the A & M player's actions. Really? Then he has the audacity to say he had a former NFL official look at the tape of the A & M game and that the "former NFL official" (unnamed of course) said he believed the game was called correctly. He is clearly a lieing piece of work.
Now that having been said, if any Nebraska fan (or shall I say fanatic) sent e-mails, voice mails or whatever to Beebe or the Big 12 Conference offices that were out of line, they ought to be ashamed of themselves. You didn't need to be a brain surgeon to see that the officiating that night was utterly outrageous, but it didn't cost Nebraska the game. If Nebraska's offense would have had a pulse, they would have won that game by four touchdowns.

As for the pile do you really think Neb players dont do the same thing in a pile?

Re: Osborne: Beebe and Big 12 "don't feel safe" in Lincoln
Saturday is going to be very interesting. Nebraska winning the Big 12 title before bolting for the Big Ten will be serious egg on the faces of the Big 12 powers that be. How awkward will it be if NU wins and Beebe does the trophy presentation?
