TV Reception with rabbit ears.
I have an old style rabbit ears antennae in my apartment. I have a lot of trouble getting reception for channel 5. I can't really get any kind of reception for this channel.
Is there anything I can do to get better reception? I get 8.1, 8.2, 11.1, 11.2, 11.3, 13.1, 13.2, 17.1, 17.2, 23.1, and 42.1. Sometimes certain channels take a little tweaking, but usually I can get them in.

Relax, it's a joke. Sheesh.
Yet more proof that this board can't live without the sarcasm pirate.

Looks like someone can't handle a dose of their own sarcasm.
Re: TV Reception with rabbit ears.
Only thing I can suggest is maybe trying a better antenna. I didn't have cable at one point and was constantly moving it around to get channels. Finally got tired of it and just got cable. I know some people can't afford cable, so I would just try getting a different set of ears.

Rabbit ear antennas will work for HD signals but just barely.
There are better unpowered antennas in different shapes that will work much better. My tv lets me plug in two. In Chicago I get about 30 channels that way.
You can also get a powered antenna you plug in to get more consistent reception. If more people in major cities realized how much content is out there over the air basic cable subscribers would drop.
Re: TV Reception with rabbit ears.
In all seriousness, have you tried tin foil on the antennae? I know my parents used to do that to try to boost reception when I was little. I've never tried it myself, so I don't know if it legitimately works or if different rules apply for digital signals vs. analog.

Get an actual HD antenna. How close are you to Alleman?

Punctuation can be a powerful ally, my friend.

I read that those HD antennas are nothing but a scam. I actually get HD channels in HD with my old rabbit ears. They just call them HD antennaes to get you to buy something new. There is nothing different about them. I already get CBS and NBC in HD. For some reason ABC I cannot get.
I am in Urbandale, on the top floor of an apartment, but facing a courtyard so there are buildings all around that may block some signal.

HD Antennas are a scam. They will work alright, but you will pay extra money for something that offers no benefit.
