If Nebraska got screwed by the big 12... great, no reason to let that bowl become a big 10 love-fest.
But Insight had plenty of reason to choose missouri, including a higher ranking in the AP, Coaches, Computer rankings, and BCS standings. Also, Missouri was owed one by the insight bowl after being selected behind us (and owed another from the big 12 for it happening in 2007 for a bcs bowl as well).
Is this all about Nebbie not going to the Cotton Bowl? Usually the Cotton Bowl picks the conference runner-up. Even so, the pick was the responsibility of the Cotton Bowl committee, not the Big 12 conference. Thus, the Big 12 did not "screw" Nebraska, the Cotton Bowl Committee did. Actually this choice applies to all the bowl committees concerned, so all the bowl committees above the Holiday Bowl screwed Nebbie; the Big 12 admin has little, or nothing to do with their choices. Evidently actions do have consequences regarding NCAA athletics after all.

Agreed. If we want to talk about 'unfairness', we need to talk about that bowl as well, as they picked a team that finished lower in all the rankings than MU, NU, or OSU, and would be 5th in overall big 12 standings with divisions removed (tied with 6-2 record, but additional noncon loss), and were picked ahead of Oklahoma state, a team that not only finished ahead of them in the south standings, but beat them.Quote:

That being said, I think both Nebbie and Iowa got what they deserve. And their fan bases will have to wait almost a year before they get to grace each other with their presence.

Nebraska leaving the Big 12 is a far greater screw over than the Big 12 knocking them down one bowl spot.

F Nebraska. They are dead to me and I would suspect that the feeling is similar for Big 12 teams/staff. The feeling is probably mutual on NU's part as well.
