Some of our posters here have claimed that new UT TV network deal with ESPN is going to make OU mad and cause them to bolt for the SEC. Is this true, or do those posters holding this opinion simply have Boomer and Sooner poo for brains?

Following the natural order of things, ISU should shortly announce a new television deal that carries our games in Davenport, Toledo and Pokypsi, New Jersey.
Makes me wonder if OU fans are gripping a bit about this in comparison to the Texas deal.

OU may run infocommercials to fill the 24 hours.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

The old Big 12 North and OU/OSU should band together and build a TV network to cover Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and probably the Omaha/Dallas markets. That would be a fairly sizeable viewing audience.
There can't possibly be enough programming for just 1 school to keep viewers interested. Lectures, olympic sports, and other University programming sounds great but using the BTN as an example, the programming blows when a football or bball game isn't on. Even then, the second and third tier games are only on it.

There should be enough programming and money between the 4 school to make it work. Have it based out of KC there are enough people from the media colleges of these schools to get it going and successful. You'll pull in the KC, StL, Omaha, and DM markets easily.

Our President and AD want nothing to do with SEC. We will not jump to the SEC

Not really. Texas demands more TV sets just based on populations. Money will be different.
I'm not going to turn away 100-120 million cause Texas is getting 300

Re: OU TV scheduled for launch in 2011
So now I'm going to be directly subsidizing both TU and OU with my cable bill, in addition to the money that they already get from me paying for the sports channels? And they still claim they are not for profit?

So are you guaranteeing that the Big 12 has a stable future; you know, one that lasts longer than 4-5 more years? C'mon, let's hear it...

Re: OU TV scheduled for launch in 2011
OH MY GOD! OU IS LEAVING THE BIG 12!
Seriously, this should put an end to that stupidity. Individual networks are the way of the future, and both OU and UT are staying put because, wait for it, they get their own ******* networks and get to keep all the money.
Really wouldn't surprise me to see Notre Dame perking up in a big, big way right now.

With regards to my post that you replied to, OU is not jumping to the SEC because they are mad/jealous about the UT/ESPN deal, as some here have contended.
And yes, I believe that the Big 12 will be around beyond 4-5 years.

And yes, I believe that the Big 12 will be around beyond 4-5 years. I mean with Texas, OU and A&M being a part of it.
I don't.
What about the $20 mil or so that all schools were each promised last summer? The Texas network undermines any future value of that. Do you think that will ever happen now, with the Texas/ESPN deal?
I don't.
If you are a Big 12 school that doesn't resent this Texas deal, it means you have no self-esteem left. Texas is daring the other schools to leave, and OU, A&M, and OSU will.
