It's crazy how much trouble the casual fan has grasping the concept of home-court advantage. I know about home court advantage. This has nothing to do with home court advantage as it has to do with style of play. I've not seen either team play as I usually at work during games, but I have never seen home court advantage play such a factor, even with Vegas and especially at Nebraska.
Granted, at home, A&M probably would have won, but this game shouldn't even have been that close. It has to be a match up issue. When was the last time a top 15 team came to Hilton and was expected to lose to a ISU team that just lost to worse team in the league (ok second worst by standing)? That would be crazy at Hilton, let alone at the Bob.

It's the same thing with the Syracuse @ Marquette game that just ended. An unranked team, favored by a couple points, beat a top 10 team.

All year, they've looked more like an 8-seed than a 4-seed. And Nebraska looks more like a fringe-bubble team this year than their typical year where they're nowhere close.

Syracuse is falling apart and was just blown out at home by a 9-12 Seton Hall team and Marquette had been playing top teams close. Meanwhile, A&M was not collapsing and NU had just lost to a terrible Tech team. So yeah, same situation...
I was very surprised to see NU favored. Kenpom got it right too.

I would argue that a upset is when a team wins who the majority of people has picked to lose. Probably the whole nation views this as a upset, just because Vegas doesn't, doesn't mean it isn't a upset.

Vegas may not see this as a upset (by a whopping 1 point) but myself and the rest of the world (seemingly minus you) does. As I said in my post there has to be a match up issue and not just home court advantage. Even though you previously said while insulting my intelligence that it was home court advantage, now you seem to be agreeing with me in a argumentative way. I have to say that the condescending nature of your posts makes this all the more entertaining.
Our argument is whether this is a upset or not. You claim because Vegas favored Nebraska that it isn't. I think when most of the world doesn't expect it, it is a upset. Upsets go beyond vegas. Your not going to sway me, I'm not going to sway you. Let's be civil at least.

Re: UPDATE: Nebraska knocks off Texas A&M
Two mutually exclusive results were possible, one being more likely than the other. The more likely result occurred. You consider that an upset. I don't. Fair enough.

Re: UPDATE: Nebraska knocks off Texas A&M
It's most definitely an upset.
