Big XII TV Negotiations
Things are going well, there are a couple of elephants in the room though (Texas 300 Mill, OU's impending payday,A&M SEC p*ssing&moaning, & Kansas making overtures to the Big East)
As convoluted as that is the NBC/Viacom deal was good for the Big XII (another seat at the negotiations table with Fox & ESPN) The money Beebe promised seems to be there ( which will keep A&M happy, so they can but toilet paper)
No expansion teams are being considered at this time, the plan is to going full barrel with the round robin schedule for the foreseeable future & the Big XII is negotiating as such. Expect moved games to CCG week (For you guys FArmageddon may be a ice bowl)

Re: Big XII TV egotiations
Is the A&M administration actually talking SEC? I know their idiot fans are, but those guys would rather go 0-12 for eternity than be in the same conference as Texas.
I assume A&M's administration is more rational than it's fanbase.

EGOtiations? Nice freudian slip in the title. -

Sounds like they are losing money left and right. They bring in like $20 mil a year from the 12th Man Foundation and have an 80,000+ seat stadium, how can they not make money there? Mind boggling.

Re: Big XII TV egotiations
TX teams (TX especially) need to play up here in Nov at least every other visit.

Re: Big XII TV egotiations
Never gonna happen. I noticed that too how Texas was our first conference game. Awfully convenient, though Oklahoma will have to play us in the cold down the road. Weak Texas, weak...

As a result of all their new construction for athletics, A&M somehow has been unable to adequately keep out of the red despite all the wealth from their numerous supporters. They evidently overextended on their capital projects. It is mind boggling.
You add that issue to their extreme Little Bro Syndrome with Texas, it's no wonder they are the biggest crybabies around. Like ISU, they really do need the cash from the new TV deals.

Just looking for more in depth info if you have it.

Re: Big XII TV egotiations
Okie State + Oklahoma will have to come to Ames mid-late November every other year. That's not a bad homefield advantage.

I assume A&M's administration is more rational than it's fanbase. You are correct.. The SEC isn't in contact with anyone
