I think that Stevens would be best served to stay at Butler. He's got a good contract there, makes money, knows he can win consistently. The grass isn't always greener on the other side. Ask Dan Hawkins. I'm not sure that Stevens is ruthless enough on the recruiting trail to compete in the Big 12. There's no doubt that he's a hell of a coach. Just not sure if that'd be a good fit or not.
Two of Mizzou's top targets will be Tubby Smith Missouri State head coach Cuonzo Martin. That'd be a slam dunk hire IMO. Martin is a real up and comer.
I usually agree with Chris, but I dont know if you can label someone an up and comer. Weren't Greg McDermott and Keno Davis up and comers too?
Stevens would not go to Mizzou. I think it would take an upper-echelon(sp?) job like KU, Duke, UNC, UCLA, etc. to get him away from Butler right now. He has proven he can reach the top of college basketball at Butler. It isn't like college football where it is pretty much a requirement to be in a BCS conference. He can stay at Butler and be in the tourney on a regular basis if not every year.
I don't bring my own opinions, just attack others.
I hear Coach Jack Reilly is looking to make the transition from hockey to basketball, good news is we know we will win ever close game against them then.
