Interesting stat breakdown on 2010 BigXII
Statistically Speaking: 2010 Big 12 SDPI
It doesn't lead to any earth-shattering conclusions, but it's an interesting way to examine the season and how teams faired in conference play.
A couple things he mentioned were that Texas still performed well on a play-by-play basis, but their -12 TO margin (in Big XII games only) is what really killed them last year. Also, TTech had their worst offense since 2005 (when he started doing this ranking) as every significant passing stat declined, and now they're QB and top two receivers are graduated. Plus their defense was still bad. I think that by firing Leach, TTech made this a toss-up game for us for the foreseeable future.

I agree completely on Tech. We absolutely owned them last year, and it didn't feel like a fluke. The weapons that they burned us with are gone (to be fair, so are a lot of the guys that we burned them with), but I feel that the match up in Lubbock is VERY winnable for us.

If Tech takes a step forward this year, it's on defense, not on offense. I have them finishing 9th in the conference.
