I feel like all the hate towards Baylor is because although ISU has probably been athletically more successful in the Big XII than Baylor, ISU is usually the first name other schools' fans say should be kicked out if something happens to the conference. I, at least, feel like ISU is always the first name thrown out there and I think it's undeserved.
For some reason it seems as if Baylor gets more respect around the Big XII and as an ISU fan this really frustrates me. This is why I dislike Baylor. We need to become a contender in either Basketball or Football every year to get the respect unfortunately...
They may not have the fan support but they've got comptitive teams in nearly every sport but football. People think they don't belong because they have a bad football program, even though their other sports do just fine(and football has been okay the last few years)
Although Baylor should be proud of winning in other sports, but Women's Basketball and Track does not bring in new fan support or revenue...

Perception is reality. If the Big XII were going to kick someone out it probably would be us right now, who cares? We're not getting kicked out of our conference and we're building winners in FB and BB.

I think both schools are better contributors to the league than joe fan would realize.
Pretty sure the Academic standard of the Big 12 would go down the toilet without Baylor and ISU.
But that's waaaaay on the back-burner for most Big 12 fans.
Pretty sure it wouldn't - ISU is "up there" in terms of education in the Big 12, but both Texas (45) and A&M (63) rank ahead of both Baylor (79) and ISU (94), Missouri (94) is tied with ISU, and Kansas (104) and Oklahoma (111) are not too far behind ISU.
This whole "the Big 12 would collapse academically if it weren't for ISU" is largely a fallacy made up by ISU fans to help us sleep better at night.
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.
Actually you are wrong. It had very little to do with Ann Richards. The Texas Gov. has very little power. It had ALL to do with powerful Baylor and Texas Tech Alums in the legislature. Baylor guys like Bob Bullock (who was extremely powerful) and David Sibley did most of the work. It is continually reported as all Ann Richards, but that is false.
Also, got to remember the State of Texas has a LOT more going on sports and economic wise than the state of Iowa. No offense but there isn't really anything to do in Iowa.

I remember how excited people in Waco were that Baylor was going to be a member of the big 12....
