It would be just like now... playing 9 conference games IF you make the CCG.
Same Big XII divisions as before... except Nebby and Colorado replaced with BYU and AF/L'ville in the North.
Would be GREAT for ISU. Most coaches of programs that are legit National Championship contenders HATE conference championship games. It gives them one more opportunity to stumble and lose against a quality opponent. Coaches like Bob Stoops don't want another obstacle in their path to a BCS Championship.

1) Less $$ for them
2) More difficult conference for them
Well it can't be 1) if we're adding a CCG. How adding members affects their money in a conference without revenue sharing doesn't make sense to me. The CCG gets everyone money.
So I figured it must be 2). They must worry about playing each other twice. Best way to fix that is stick them in the same division. But if OU and UT are in the same division, it's almost impossible to have "balanced" divisions like the ACC and the B1G did. You just go geographically like the Pac-12 and like we had before. North and South.

Big XII right now playing 9 conference games.
Big XII with 12 teams would play 8 conference games. CCG would be the 9th.
What's the big deal? A division with ISU, KU, KSU, Mizzou, BYU, and Louisville is not exactly dangerous to a team like OU right now. It's free money and a potential BCS bump. Sure, they can trip up and lose, BUT they already have one extra chance to do that now with 9 conference games.

Stoops comments to the Orlando Sentinel about Nebraska & Colorado leaving and no Big XII title game. OS: What’s the affect of the Big 12 losing Nebraska and Colorado this season? BS: “In the end, in this world, we’ve just kind of stepped in the same alignment that conferences like the Pac-10 and Big Ten have operated in for over 100 years. Now, we are in that situation. Now, they have to go play in that championship game that we’ve been doing for the last 16 years. So, hey, have fun with it.” OS: Will you miss playing in the Big 12 Championship game? BS: “The times you are competing for a national championship and you’re in it aren’t as, then its ‘What are we doing in this game?’ You could be undefeated and you could be playing a team that has two-or-three losses and the teams that you are looking at playing in the national championship are sitting at home not playing because they don’t have the championship game whether they be from the Pac-10 or Big Ten. In those situations, you don’t like it. It’s just another major hurdle on your way to another possible national championship. You have all this emotion in your conference championship now you have to have it all again for the next game, the National Championship. There’s a lot that goes into that. But then the years, for instance this year, when you don’t have a national championship staring you right in the eyes, they are exciting to play in because they are special.”

Would be GREAT for ISU. The Big 12 Championship game has cost the Big 12 potential National Championships. More than once the under dog has won and taken the favorite out of the National Championship running. KSU beat Oklahoma and Colorado beat Texas.

We will see how tOSU likes it. Prior to realignment, they could avoid the toughest team in their conference and walk to the National Championship game. Now they may have to face that team twice in order to get to the National Championship game. Can you imagine tOSU and Michigan playing in their rivalry game at the end of the season, both winning their division and then play the following week? Sometimes it is hard to beat the same team twice

It cost the Big XII 4 National Championship game appearances. On 2 other occasions it should have but didn't due to flukes in the BCS process. Texas lost in the title game a few years back and Nebraska slipped into the NCG although they didn't play in the Big XII title game. Then a few years back OU collapsed and lost to K-State and they still made it to the NCG which defies all logical explanation.
In the end the Big XII title game really has never propelled a team that was on the outside looking in at the top 2 spots in the BCS standings into the BCS title game. In most years the Big XII has had a team in the BCS title game they were firmly either #1 or #2 in the BCS standings already. In essence the Big XII title game has never helped as much as it has hurt the Big XII.

Re: Trade aTm for BYU
If its at all workable the divisions would likely be redone for balance. Okie schools would join the north and the 2 newbs would join the TX schools. Better for rivalries & balance

The best (or worst) example is K-State in the late 90's when they lost to aTm in the CCG, falling all the way to the............. Holiday Bowl maybe?.
