Been traveling all weekend so I haven't been able to post much. I attended the most absolutely boring Mizzou game, EVER, this past Saturday in 100 degree heat and I'm still steaming.

I just wanted to stop by and say that I'm rooting for you guys and hope that we all find suitable conference homes in the very near future. Don't buy the media drivel. ISU is a great school, and will land on its feet.

    Be blessed.

The character played by James Spader. He was awfully creepy, I'm interested to see how it goes.

    Re: Texas talking to ACC?...

Actually, what needs to be done (if possible) is create a separate forum for realignment. I know in threads that get as massive as the "Texas A&M leaving Big 12" thread is, links get lost simply because there is too much information. If there can be a separate forum (with an opt-in clause like ISR and the Cave), that allows for discussion for the people who maybe missed those links the first time around in the Monster. And it keeps those threads off the front page, too.

Usually when there's that much smoke, there's fire. Why don't you see us mentioned basically anywhere? That is a bit disconcerting if you ask me.

    This is so silly....

I don't get how people don't seem to grasp the reality of all of this.

Iowa State is absolutely not going to be mentioned in any of these types of articles simply because we don't control our own destiny. We are not a "player" in these negotiations. This is also why you don't hear much from Baylor, and even Tech for that matter.

Tech is trying to make noise so people don't forget about them, but they have absolutely no say in where they end up either.

The ONLY reason that KState is mentioned is because of KU. They are along for the ride as much as any of the rest of us are. IF Ku wants to be nice, and take them along, then they end up allright. Ku has been a sneaky bastard in all of this as well, so if they need to let kstate go to save themselves, then cats are just as left out as the rest.

As far as the aggie jagoffs on here, remember that in making this move, you have now opened up east texas to many more suitors. They won't be taking kids from UT, they will be taking them from you. Way to let your self image **** your program.

Is it possible a brand new conference could be formed at the end of all this? Could some of the Big XII teams get together with Notre Dame and maybe some other teams to form a new conference and just forget about the Big XII? I guess this doesn't seem like a possibility because otherwise it would have been brought up. What type of things prevent new conferences from forming, does the NCAA not allow it?

Other than things just staying the way they are, this sounds like the only way I could be happy.

You know, I think that is part of the problem with ISU. Every time we are in the news (well nearly every time), it is for some embarrassing incident.

We spent two years having our football games broadcast to a national audience with a band and cheerleaders who were somehow allowed onto the field while wearing other than perfectly coordinated school colors. That should never have happened....they should have been told to fix it immediately or get off of the field.

Who can forget the ridiculous pregame festivities of a few years back when the players crashed into the goalposts because of the excessive smoke?

Obviously money is important, but so is image...and the incompetence displayed in that regard has been stunning.

FINALLY, the other night, I arrived at a football game that did not have a bizarre, forced pregame chant, the cheerleaders had GREAT uniforms (some of the best I've seen), and the band had new uniforms that can at least be described as being the correct color. Now, if someone would find and destroy all of the "flags" that the band uses except for those that have some connection to our school colors, we will be on the right track. My husband even said "those blue flags look stupid"...and if HE is commenting, it must be bad.

You can all laugh about the "little things"....but in the grand scheme, it greatly affects the way that we are thought of....and right now, because of what has been allowed to go on for the last few years (both on the field/court and off) we are to some extent perceived as a misfit.

Record the game next week, and see how great we look now that we are finally "all put together." The new scoreboard, the great "look" of the cheerleaders, and band (except the flag line). Hopefully, you will also capture a great FB game; and of course we have a great season upcoming in BB...FINALLY. It would be a shame to see the situation on the upswing, only to have it all come crashing down.

    Yes, I'm in marketing...LOL!

While that sounds great, I doubt the Big Ten and ACC sit and do nothing as other leagues go to 14 and 16.

I'd be thrilled if the end of this thing was

    16 - Pac 16

    14 - SEC

    12 - ACC, B1G, Big East

But It's more likely the SEC and B1G get into a wiener measuring contest with the Pac 16. The ACC will likely play victim and executioner both before it's all over.

Best case scenario is a legal action, or preventative legal action resulting in an invite to B1G or new ACC/BigEast/Big 12.

Second best we could hope for is ending up in a Big East/ACC/Big 12 rejects conference because SEC/ACC/B1G don't all fully expand to 16.

Third best is some kind of CUSA or MWC because the legal actions did not work and Oklahoma, Nebraska and Texas A&M successfully screwed us because they were jealous of Texas.

I blame Nebraska, A&M, and Oklahoma in that order. (obviously P16 Scott and UT have a big share of the responsibility as well, but at least they've been consistent)

They all voted for no sharing for years, then they cried like little babies when they sucked at making money compared to Texas.

Texas has been consistent all along. Nebraska, A&M, and Oklahoma all just did a completely irrational 180 about sharing. It was pathetic they didn't want equal revenue distribution from the beginning like other major conferences have (Texas included) and it's even more pathetic that they cried like babies when they couldn't keep up with the Longhorns.
