re: *****The Super, Mega, Huge Big 12 Expansion Thread*****
The Big 12 schools in the biggest trouble would be Baylor and Iowa State.
“They might have to go backwards,” said a source — meaning Conference USA or the Mountain West
So when you hear Big East and wonder why schools such as Missouri, Kansas and Kansas State are being mentioned, think Midwest TV markets. Maps are just a piece of paper with lines.
With Texas A&M poised to join the SEC, the Big East is looking to add those three Big 12 schools and grow to 12 football schools and swell to 20 in basketball.
Obviously, these are baseless rumors as I was assured on this board that we are going into the Big East and/or the Big Ten.

They'll need to add 5-10 schools to add 3 schools after they get raided. We'll likely join the Big East but we might never play Pitt, WV or UCONN.
If they're not stupid, and they want to survive as a football conference, they'll invite ISU, KSU, KU, Mizzou if available, Baylor, Houston and UCF.

That would be an entertaining league to watch in my opinion. It will be nice to still have a couple Texas teams in the conference, the ones that don't cry or burn houses down anyway.

Big 12 football coaches deal with situation out of their control - Houston Chronicle
But with TCU joining the Big East next season, the conference reportedly is no longer interested in either the Cyclones or Baylor.
Ouch.

That Wilner article looks bad for ISU, however, it overlooks the fact that the ACC will likely lose schools to the Big Ten or the SEC and then will need to replace schools by grabbing Big East schools like Pitt, WVA, Syracuse, or Rutgers, which would eventually open up a spot for ISU - ISU just has to hope that the SEC immediately goes to 14 or 16.

It's the only reason I can come up with because ISU certainly adds more than KSU in every way if KU is already in the league. We'll be back to being better than them at basketball this year ;-)

I love ISU, but the football has been average at best and thanks to McD, basketball has been a flop. Too bad this conference changes were not happening in a few years down the road, I think ISU would look a lot more attractive.
