I doubt anyone (not even us) is 100% committed.

It's a much more stable group without A&M though.

I think those left would leave for a better deal (as would any team in any conference), but they don't want out the way A&M did. Not even close.
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.

Nobody in any conference is 100% committed as long as there is a better offer out there to be had. So unless you have the largest conference revenue you are always open for options if they come your way...

Yes, like I said, everyone else is "firmly entrenched". Completely committed until a better offer comes along.

Perfect scenerio for me with 12 teams but not gonna happen:

    NORTH:

    Notre Dame
    Iowa State
    Missouri
    Kansas
    Kansas State
    BYU

    SOUTH:

    Texas
    Oklahoma
    Oklahoma State
    Texas Tech
    Baylor
    Houston/SMU

Actually, that scenario would not be a bad landing place for us Cyclones should the Big 12 blow up; better than the WAC, MWC, C-USA, MAC, or, heaven forbid, the Sunbelt Conference.

Re: Nobody else wants out, right?

To answer the OP's question... Missouri DEFINATELY wants out. They've tried once and failed to go to the Big 10, and have made no bones about the fact that they still want out. All Gary Pinkel did at the Big 12 media days was whine about Texas and the LHN. Missouri wants out BAD.

At first I was ticked off about A&M, and still am I somewhat, but after letting this whole thing sink in a bit, A&M is being pretty smart here and I can't blame them for what they are doing.

If two months ago ISU had the chance to join the Big 10, would we have done so? I sure hope we would have. A&M isn't stupid, they can see the instability of the Big 12. They are being proactive here. They are watching out for themselves. They will be a LOT more stable in the SEC than in the current Big 12.

While we will be standing around wondering what our fate will be, A&M will know their fate, and it will be pretty stable. They are being smart.

That's why I'm beginning to think that if we get the chance to jump to the Big East, we might want to take it? We need to start watching out for our own backs. We don't want a situation where we stand around too long and end up being the odd team out in the end with no place to go.

He spent a grand total of less than two minutes talking about the Longhorn Network.

I'll tell you why we want out. We want out because, just like you, we are tired of being treated like red-headed step-children. We got hosed out of a BCS Orange Bowl berth because the Big 12 didn't have the stones to stop the corrupt practices of KU.

Also, every year we have a better record than the Texas teams yet get pushed down to lower tier bowls. We crushed A&M last year, and had a better record, yet they got a better bowl. That sucks big hairy lollipops.

I don't give a flyin' fajita if people think I'm a whiner. Facts are facts. Mizzou has developed a very good football program. 40 wins in the last 4 years. I wish the Big 12 would have worked, but it didn't.

You need to wake up to reality buddy. Going to great bowls has very little to do with how good of a football team you have. It's about money. And you Missouri fans don't travel well at all to bowl games.

You were #12 in the country last year and went to the Insight Bowl... only because you guys don't travel. Of course, you also proved you were WAY overrated when an average Iowa team beat you.

Colllege football is all about money... very little else. Get used to it, it's called reality. You aren't going to get invited to better bowls if you join the SEC, UNLESS you start to travel better.

I'm not sure I need to get in an argument with you over the quality of our program. Our improved record over the past decade speaks for itself. You have some valid points, but we are trying to build into a permanent top tier program just as I'm sure you would love to.

Mizzou has been a top 25 fixture for years. Yet, every year we get hosed. For example, Texas is ranked ahead of us in the preseason polls. Really? 5-7 Texas ahead of Mizzou? Hilarious.

If you were in our position you would understand how stupid and inequitable the entire situation is. See, it's much easier to compete and win when there is a level playing field. That's just not the case right now.

Believing that the Big 12 is the only conference that favors the top dog schools is ignorant. Texas will be ranked ahead of Mizzou no matter what conference you are in or what your record was the year before. Just like Ohio State would be in the Big 10 or Alabama in the SEC. I won't argue that the Big 12 is stable right now, but schools better really do their homework before they are convinced they have a better deal somewhere else before they get locked into another situation.

Exactly. Missouri would join the SEC West and have LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas annually plus potential for crossover games with Florida, Georgia and South Carolina and whoever joins the East. Have fun with that
