If by some 'crazy' chance we might pull in ND and BYU, lose aTm maybe, just maybe I could see an SMU thing but truthfully Houston's got a better shot.
Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience. -

Re: SMU lobbying to join Big 12
I'd like SMU better than AF or UCF.
BYU above them...
There really isn't much out there to add without poaching other AQs, which is unrealistic at this point.

Seriously, no more SWC schools. I think it's pretty obvious that divorce was not a amicable one. No need for any more baggage in the B12. Bellevue University would be awesome. Too bad UNO dropped football.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: SMU lobbying to join Big 12
Well the good news would be ISU playing only 2 miles from my apartment -

In DFW which is very well covered already by UT and OU (among others). The only reason they have a name is because they cheated so bad 30 years ago that they got the worst punishment the NCAA could deliver.
I would take UCF, AF, Houston, BYU, and a whole list of other schools before SMU.

I would take UCF, AF, Houston, BYU, and a whole list of other schools before SMU. Agreed, their overall profile as a university is not quite where it could be. Not sure on the academic side of things(I'm sure they are good), but 7k students and a brand new 35k seat stadium in a covered market that doesn't win us any recruits... no thanks.
Poach UCF if BYU turns us down.

Re: SMU lobbying to join Big 12
I have an e-mail telling me that the lawyers I sent to the United Nations were successful in getting access to the fund I inquired about. I see that as more likely than SMU.
