Exactly, they'll more than likely have a veteran group in 2 or 3 years thats ready to contend for a NC again.

Last time I checked they were still an FCS team.
Same thing here - a QB that struggled against us last year is suddenly guaranteed going to have a career day against ISU? Please. He'll undoubtedly be better, but come on...
I have seen more of the opposite. I see many people say that we will dominate UNI because our DL is going to be much better and we will have a better QB. Even though our OL struggled against UNI's DL and our defense outscored our offense. People assume we have taken great strides and UNIis the same team that we faced last year.

If the kids do not continue to progress during their senior year they are stuck with subpar recruiting classes. If Brown pulls offers then he looks really bad instate. Oh the joys of trying to lock up the premier in state talent prematurely.
If you think UT's recruting as a whole "sub-par" you must smoke crack.
Did they struggle last year? Sure. That same recruiting practice also resulted in 4 BCS bowls since 2005 of which they won 3 including 2 NT games in which they were 1-1. Also how many recruits go to other schools that dont pan out? Quite a few.
According to ESPN TX currently has 54 players in the NFL. I didnt take the time to determine if any of those players were from the pre-Mack Brown era (my guess is that there are probably a few but not many since he has been there for so long).
I think that last year was a result of people getting complacent, both the coaches and the players. They didnt have the player leadership that they have had in the past, it wasnt a lack of talent.
