Anyone just listen to Boone Pickens interview on OK St game?

He is a traditionalist and wants to keep the rivalries and the the conference together. He was on record before Boren's comments last week saying as much. But his remarks were encouraging given the last week's activities.

Other than the TV networks and the mason jar clan, who isn't a traditionalist? Rivalries are what college sports are about.

You could tell he knew a lot more then what he was saying. He was wanting to spit more out but held back.

Maybe he has spread a few more $$$ around to ensure that the Big XII stays intact.:shocked:

Pickens and Okie State get to argue from a different position than Pollard and ISU. That said, i would love for the more powerful figures in the conference to get us equal revenue sharing. That would be amazing, and instantly stabilize the conf. Without it, it will inevitably collapse. Just a matter of when.

But its obviously not working and we know what model works.

I didn't care either because ISU was going to get paid but the reason everyone wants out is because of the current model.

It needs to change if the Big 12 has any hope.

An interesting quote yesterday from steve deace, something to the fact of "guys like Harkin and Grassley eat guys like Delaney and Sluve for breakfast, lunch and maybe a late might snack". I would think T Boone does as well. These commissioners were given power through espn and contact $$$, they didn't earn it. A little off topic, but carry on...

This sounds very encouraging, but I'm going to temper my excitement for now. Things have just been so up and down.
