Anyone just listen to Boone Pickens interview on OK St game?

So, based on what he is saying, I should file suit against A&M tomorrow morning, right?

It was a good interview and I do not have anything against Boone Pickens. The guy made a boatload of money and now he is supporting his almamater. As stated above, I wish he would have gone to ISU.

One way that I interpete the interview is Pickens quickly commented that he knew about litigation. Maybe he or OSU are going to sue A&M for leaving the conference, and then see if they can force Texas to drop the Longhorn network, or at least share the revenue from it or make it the Big 12 network.

Wouldn't the longhorn network be more viable as a Big XII network anyways. I just don't see it spreading much out of the state of Texas as it stands, but include the other states and you open up a much larger market. I know Texas thinks pretty highly of themselves, but no way the LHN goes anywhere outside of Texas. Make it a XII network and you have a shot in not just the Conference states, but those who play out of conference games as well. Just asking here, but it doesn't seem like the LHN is selling like hotcakes as it is.

I still don't see why Texas would ever give up the LHN...they are banking an extra $15 mil. per year with that sweetheart deal and it is the only reason they are here now. Are we supposed to believe that the Horns have developed morals and an interest to keep the conference together now all of a sudden, or do they have a fear of litigation? Or maybe it was the fear of a worse deal now with the PAC-12? A combination of all these things perhaps?

I would like nothing more than for them to come to grips with the reality of the advantages gained from developing a stable conference, but I am having trouble seeing their motivation. Texas didn't even anticipate that amount of money, and why would they want to trade in that revenue to make it ESPN's first conference network instead of just their school network? Can that even be done...anyone know the outs ESPN currently has in that deal? Would changing it to a national network bring in more money than it is already yielding Texas...do you have an unequal revenue sharing structure for 3rd tier rights as motivation to change this over?

Then there is still the question about TAMU's departure and addition to the SEC. They will be sitting at 13...looking for a 14th...which means expansion will run rampant again, eventually. I would hope that if a deal is being worked out to save the Big 12 under a new (desirable) model that they are thinking about positioning our conference to become one of the new superconferences in the future. It is so logical that it is hard to believe it will happen.

I remember him saying that OSU will not be involved any litigation, so if its out there, must be from someone else.

Okay, I'm confused. A few days ago Pickens was talking about OSU leaving. Now he's talking about Big XII stability.

It seems some people "in the know" are very calm about the situation. Could this mean a new Big XII, possibly with some new members, with equal revenue sharing? Doubt Texas would go for that, but it certainly would make things more stable, especially since everyone seems to be using the equal revenue sharing model as an excuse for stability.

Come on people, he was on ESPN!!! What's he gonna say?? "No,this is a dead conference and we're looking to get out ASAP". He may have more info but he's certainly not letting the cat out of the bag.
