The question is, does $5 million go further in the Big East, than $10 million would in the Big XII?
I wouldn't think so, think about your extra travel expenses for all of the East Coast games compared to those of the Big 12. Now in regards to facilities we would likely get an increase in how are facilities compared to those in the Big East, but that doesn't do anything in regards to how we can survive better on $5 million Big East compared to $10 million Big 12...
"Lose a lot of Texas recruits."
More like LOSE ALL TEXAS RECRUITS...
Bottom line is this...texas football players do not want to play in a cold climate of the upper midwest or the east coast....
Chizik and Rhoads have combined to haul in more than 25 Florida recruits in about 5 classes. A pipeline is a pipeline.

If it's a matter of tv sets, no body has more than the Big East. it wouldn't hurt to represent well against UConn and make a good impression.
# of TV sets is only part of it. You're not taking into account market penetration. The Big East might cover the vast majority of the states that the Big 10 does, but it doesn't have anywhere near the same amount of market penetration, which means it will never have near the market power as the Big 10 Network. A potential Big East network would never be able to force its way onto basic tier cable plans the same way that BTN was able to.
Note, I'm not saying I'm opposed to the Big East or the amount of money it could potentially bring in. But if people think that a potential Big East Network would have the same kind of success as the Big 10 Network has, they're deluded. The Big East might get more TV sets than the Big 10, but it won't have anywhere close to the market penetration that it has.
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.
