Seriously...the SEC and B12 now have the exact same revenue sharing arrangement. That argument is a non-starter anymore.
Well, let's all hope that Mizzou leaves so that ISU will be rid of all the whores of the Big 12.
The fact that any Mizzou fans are so willing to leave 100 years of classic midwestern rivalry and tradition for a conference based in Alabama should tell you all you need to know about Mizzou fans character. I personally don't care if they leave..I'd love to have WVU or UL join the conference.
That said, and I said this before, I work over the border in Missouri about 1 1/2 hrs from Columbia and I can't find one, not one, Mizzou fan that likes the idea of the SEC. Of course they are almost all good level headed fans and not message board fans with a hard on for being courted by a better looking yet morally bankrupt mistress.
From the all-time series Missouri wins 60% of the time against ISU. I'd like to think ISU will fare better or at least no worse than anyone who replaces you.
Gotta say I've yet to talk to a Mizzou fan in person that wants to leave either. It appears to only be the minority of message board "fans"
SEC has had ZERO stability issues, but if Missouri joins and then 3 years later Big Ten decides to expand, guess which conference will start to have stability issues? Not the Big 12, it would be the SEC. That is why the conference that has Mizzou (between Big 12 and SEC) will instantly become the less stable of the two.
Revenue sharing is EXACTLY the same now in both conferences. GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEAD. That is not an opinion. It is a fact.
One dominant school in the conference - that is an opinion and is based on an emotional response. It is not based in reality based on the new leadership. We have already seen that the other eight are united and are not dominated by one school. So if Missouri is leaving because of that, it is an EMOTIONAL response and not a logical response.
You agreeing with Miller and Deace lowers your credibility instantly. They don't know crap about what is really going on and just spews misinformation from their mouths.
I'm not sure Mizzou can cheat effectively enough to compete in the SEC.
Plus, if they decide to build a Tier 3 conference wide network (a la the BTN), each team will earn even more. The BTN distributed about $8M per team last year - the SEC should be able to get at LEAST that much. That's another revenue stream that the Big 12 will NEVER have, thanks to the LHN.
Well, I suppose if each team set up their OWN network, they could. The Clone network would get 3-4 bad Tier 3 games per year, and if they drew 20K PPV subscribers (a HUGE number) per game, they'd have to charge something like $110 per subscriber to make that kind of money (and THAT doesn't include production, which would be of "boom goes the dynamite" quality)
And I haven't even touched on the fact that since the Big 12 doesn't currently have a championship game, that's more lost revenue. Or if you add enough teams to bring a championship game back, you're splitting the pie more way with teams (L-ville? TCU? Tulane?) that aren't pulling in the same revenue as the ones they're replacing.
What am I missing? How could the money NOT be better in the SEC?
Love this tweet by David Ubben:
Checked scores. At least if Missouri heads to the SEC, it won't run into teams with the kind of talent K-State trots out on Saturdays.
Nice show on the field today vs KSU as well. Rock on Mizzou!
2. Show me something other than an unsourced anonymous AP wire story saying ANYBODY from Mizzou wants B1G more than SEC. Nobody. You only want teams that WANT to be in the Big 12. Problem is, based on what we know about other teams exploring their options, you still have about 4 that are lukewarm...rights deal or not.
3. I'm impressed that leaders who have been in charge for ONE WEEK are able to fix all of the governance issues. Im also impressed with your trust in UT...based on what exactly? Their past commitment to this conference? ISU's lack of options?
Im going to laugh when you dip ***** are voted down to join the SEC.
Positive note though you Misery fans wont show up around here again.
