I Stand By Coach Rhoads

I was lucky enough to work with the football team during Coach Rhoads' first year at Iowa State. I was with the team all through training camp, at practices, and on the sidelines. I've never seen a better coach! This man is amazing. What he teaches these boys about football and life is unreal. We couldn't have asked for a better coach. I know that he is giving his all, and he loves these boys and this school with all his heart. The passion he shows is crazy. I just wish all of Cyclone Nation would realize how lucky we are to have Paul Rhoads as our coach. When that man talks, every single person in hearing distance is giving their undivided attention. I don't know how many times during training camp I wanted to throw on a helmet and go play after listening to his end of practice huddle talks. Paul Rhoads is an amazing coach, and I'll always stand by him 100%.

Some people act like it's the end of the world to expect people to do their job competently. I work in designing and creating products. When a printer or manufacturer screws up my designs, I let them know. At first I let them know politely and if they continue to try to take advantage of me I get nasty about it. If they screw up repeatedly, I steer my company's business elsewhere.

I have no idea why college football officials are the one job on this planet above all reproach according to many on this board. We live in a country where half the nation calls the president a Nazi for 8 years, then the other half of the country calls the new president a Nazi for going on 3 years...BUT YOU MUST NOT EVER CRITICIZE A SPORTS OFFICIAL BECAUSE.......THAT........unlike President of the United States........is a tough job to get right. Good grief. LMAO We're getting screwed and CPR is doing his job by not sitting on his butt and accepting it.

Where is this crap coming from questioning coach Rhoads. As far as I'm concerend the schedule is much tougher than even when Mac was here. He is bringing in better talent and has PASSION. I love that. He can't make the recievers catch balls and has made a change at qb. I like the direction we are going. Let him get his players in the system and if we can't get on the right track then it is time to start with the 20 questions.

-We beat UCONN with questionable reffing at best, and 95% of posters will agree to this statement.
-We lost to Texas in a sold out game. We embarassed ourselves, but the refs were no help, and were absolutely horrible, and couldnt even get their reviews right.
-We lost to Baylor, where the reffing was downright terrible. Again, 95% of posters will agree, and I heard rumor that ISU sent a complaint about this game.
-We lost to Missouri. We didn't show up.
Saturday, against A&M, in the homecoming game, with the knowledge that he hasn't been getting many favorable calls lately, and with a quarterback controversy, the ref made a stupid, stupid, STUPID mistake after making a terrible call on an out of bounds play stopping time and leading to an A&M score right in front of Rhoads.

If Rhoads turns into the Hulk and destroys every single ref in our next game, damn straight I'll be standing by him. The reffing wasn't horrific as it had been against Baylor and UCONN, but Rhoads knows he needs to set the record straight with the refs before they take control of every Iowa State game.

I agree with this statement about standing behind Coach Rhoads, the only thing that scares me is we are replacing
Texas A&M with TCU, and Missouri with West Virgina. You think the schedule was tough this year, it is only going to get tougher until we go to 12 teams!

I don't know .. considering ISU is 2-8 in the last decade vs. Missouri and 1-9 all-time vs. A&M, I'll take the risk that it can't be much worse replacing those two with TCU (0-3) and West Virginia (0-0).

Coach Rhoads is the right man for ISU. We just need the B12 to get two more teams in order to water down the conference a little and lose an extra conference game.

If this team was in the Big 10, we would go bowling this year. If we were in a 12 team B12 with divisions, we might be bowling as well.

But playing in the best or a close second best conference and having 9 conference games is not an easy task

I was really upset with some things that were said on this board about the coaching staff, and stopped coming by for a while. Hopefully, the silly comments will stop, and we can support our team.

TCU & WVU are replacing some crappy teams from their conference with ISU!

Well said and I couldn't agree more. Rhoads is the arguably the best coach ISU has ever had, and I never want him to leave. Win or lose, he's a Cyclone.

Thank you for this thread and I heartily agree.

I also stand by Coach Rhoads. I found it hard to understand many of the posts about CPR recently.

I play on a softball team with several fathers and sons. One of the sons was a walk-on for ISU under CPR. I asked him and his father about CPR. They told me he is the real deal. This is a very good athlete who played many sports growing up and through high school. Meaning they had a lot of experience with coaches.

I trust them and I trust my eyes.
