Re: Louisville still in play for B12
I say we tell the BE to let WVU out of their 27 month deal or we invite Louisville tomorrow. Either way we win.

It leads to some co-championships, like in 2002. Two teams were undefeated in conference play, but they never played each other. Which sucks.
Unless you're Iowa; in which case the only title you can get is one when you can dodge Mich/tO$U.

Oops, it is HARD to keep up with all the chairs when the music hasn't stopped playing yet.
Still, I say get the remaining Big East football schools in the fold. No one left to sue anyone and we have a full conference of decent schools/competition.

I may be in the minority, but living in KC area, I would still like to see a hard push to get MU to stay, then add Louisville and rock it out as the Big 12.

Don't blame the team...they just play who's on the schedule. Blame the league that lived with this arrangement for 20 years.
That said, co-championships are for p****es. Whether its a division crown or a conference champion, there can only be one. If they don't play head-to-head, pick some kind of tiebreaker. This isn't Pop Warner...not EVERYBODY gets a trophy.
I think an 11-team conference is more trouble than it's worth.

If Mizzou somehow did an about-face now, after all that's gone on, the internet zombie fan base would would go bat-*** crazy. Deaton would have to go into hiding. Most folks I talk to are like you - we'd like to keep the old rivalries (which is really what college football is about).Plus - if MU stayed, we'd have Mizzoulander hanging around here forever...

You shouldn't be in the minority, because that's the best solution for us by far.
10 teams are "in", anything ending up at 12 with a combo Louisville, Missouri, BYU, or Cincy is the best solution for the Big 12 as a whole and ISU.
At this point I put Louisville as more desirable than Missouri. Missouri has practically zero championships in all Big 12 sports, ISU just won another championship last week and keeps blowing by them. Louisville has a bigger athletic budget than Missouri and they want to be in the Big 12.
10 that are in and my choices for 11 and 12 in order:
Louisville
Missouri (even though they're an 8th grade girl)
BYU (would be way above Missouri if they were closer)
Cincy
If we went to 12 with all Big East teams I'd consider going to 14 with BYU/AFA or BYU/BSU. Not as sold on going to 14 with USF/UCF.

The internet zombies are easily distracted. A week later, they'll be on to something else. We could always vote someone off the island if we needed to.

I can blame their douchey fans all I want. Minnesota has won an NC since the last time Iowa won an outright league title. Yes, Minnesota. Yet hawks loooove to ask when the last time ISU won a league title was.
And stop responding to my posts, dickface.

Zombie tip #1: Do not fire guns, it will only attract more. Instead use a shovel, metal pipe, axe or other silenced weapon to hit them in the brain.
Zombie tip #2: If you must walk outside by them, wear a trenchcoat that is soaked with zombie blood, they can smell the living.
Zombie tip #3: If it rains and washes off your zombie blood while you are walking amoungst the dead....run like hell. And watch out for the dead guy in the tank!

Any move to 12 (or 14) teams has to work around one immutable fact: the remaining conference teams are going to receive less per team, at least in the short term. From a fan perspective, 12 is great: easier road to division titles, the conference name matches its # of members, etc.
For a school looking at taking a $3-4M per year hit, it's a little different. ESPN and Fox already helped out the Big 12 by maintaining payouts for a 12-team league with only 10 members. From their perspective, they've already paid for 12 teams...they're not going to pay more.
Nobody gets added to the Big 12 unless the league is sure it can make up that share of revenue in the next TV deal. That means 10 teams for now, like it or not.

That is my hope too. I really want the conference to get back to 12. Missouri sucks, but I do want them to stay.... They stay and we just go and get Louisville. That is a great conference right there, in FB and in MBB.
For some reason, I don't want Cincy in our conference. If it got to that point, (Missouri leaving), stay at 10 and wait to see what ND is wanting to do. *Although I don't think ND will join any conference for FB.* So in that case, get BYU or poach Kentucky over Cincy IMO.
