Our conference record would still be 3-6 to there record of 4-5. That's all that should matter when you are playing a true round robin schedule.

Re: Does Missouri go bowling this year?
Mizzou fans are too busy patting themselves on the back for joining to the SEC than to be bothered with going to a bowl game this year.

2009 Iowa State Cyclones
(Not a true round robin, but we still avoided the big boys and got picked over 'em...Missouri played a LOT tougher schedule and had a better record)

Anybody want to argue that Husker fans wouldn't have traveled to AZ to play Iowa? Clearly, the Big 12 has more influence over its bowl partners than it claims.
I would expect Missouri to get the same treatment as NU did from the league regarding bowl matchups this year.

Re: Does Missouri go bowling this year?
As an Iowa State fan I would hope that a team that abused us to that level would at least be good enough to make it to a bowl...

Re: Does Missouri go bowling this year?
I don't give a **** about MU. I just want my 6 wins and a bowl game. Then let the chips fall where they may.

The $58 million means little. I guarantee Iowa State has more than that on the books. It only takes one really ****** off donor to come up with a few million dollars for a buyout.

But I still don't think KU will get rid of Gill after this year. They are still paying buyouts for Mangino and Perkins.

$20m East Side JTS
$20m West Side JTS
$8m Sukup
$21m Football Complex
$5m JTS Videoboard
$8m? Hilton Videoboard/Ribbon
$12m Cyclone Sports Complex
Some of it is obviously paid off, but there's no way that over half is paid off. I'm sure I'm forgetting some too.
And I think Turner Gill's buyout is $8m after this season. They could fork that over pretty easily with the new revenue stuff coming into play next year. Something they want to do? Probably not unless absolutely necessary, but it could be done.

Re: Does Missouri go bowling this year?
They'll probably give Gill another year. The team is not completely void of talent, so they are probably hoping there's a turnaround.

Not to mention that they probably can't afford to buyout Gill yet. But Penn State is going to hire him in the offseason after he goes 5-19 at Kansas.

I would expect Missouri to get the same treatment as NU did from the league regarding bowl matchups this year. Wait, are you saying the Insight Bowl is better than the Holiday Bowl? Since when? I've always thought the order of prestige was:
1) Fiesta
2) Cotton
3) Holiday
4) Others

I would love to see Missouri staying home in post season. Thoughts?
I'm with ya bro I would also love to see mizzou-rah stay home but I think that regardless of the TU Longhorn game...
The teagers will beat Tx Tech and blow out Kansas and make it to a mediocre bowl.
