Mike Sherman
Will he be Texas A&M's coach next year? They should make a bowl this year due to their last 2 games are against epic collapse Kansas and no running backs Texas. However, will this save Sherman or is he gone at seasons end?

Re: Mike Sherman
I doubt they go through a coaching change right before they move to the SEC.

Re: Mike Sherman
I think people are getting restless, is it 4or 5 second half collapses this year?

Sherman has been pretty underwhelming, as far as I'm concerned, especially this year. They were a sexy pick to win the Big 12, pre season, and now they're .500? That offense has a ridiculous amount of talent, and they lose the close games. Reading their message boards, it's clear that he's lost at least some of the fanbase. I could easily see them ditching Mike and going to the SEC with someone new.

Re: Mike Sherman
Seems like a lot of their fans (on TexAgs) want to make the change. If they lose to Texas it's game over for Sherman.
Someone has filed a FOIA request to see the terms of his extension from this summer. His first contract was guaranteed money ($1.8MM per year). However, the local paper reported this summer that a buyout clause that favored A&M was added with his extension and raise.
Sherman, who is 19-19 in three seasons, will be paid $2.2 million per year through March 2016, with A&M holding options for 2016 and 2017.
Sherman's current seven-year contract was scheduled to run through 2015 and it paid him $1.8 million annually. That contract, signed in December 2007, didn't have a buyout clause. Under the new agreement approved by Texas A&M's Board of Regents on Friday, Sherman would be paid $1.8 million if the pact would be terminated by A&M without cause before March 2012. The buyout would drop to $1.44 million in 2013, eventually sliding to $500,000 in 2016.

The 3rd quarter is what kills A&M. They have been outscored 77-10 in the 3rd quarter.

Re: Mike Sherman
I'd love to see it so they not only have to pay the B12, but they have to buy out Sherman's contract.
No worries though...I guess they'll be rolling around in all that SEC cash!

Sherman has been dissapointment at most levels. The A & M crowd doesn't seem to put up with much of that, so who knows. I don't feel sorry for them. They canned a really good coach in R.C. Slocum and have had to live with that decision ever since.
Sorry to see A & M leave the Big 12. They indeed are a quality insititution and school and the Big 12 is less without them in it.

Joe Bergeron sat this weekend with a hamstring injury.
Fozzy Whittaker messed his knee up this weekend. He's probably done.
