What do you expect. The Big Ten wants this to be a rivalry. It is not a true rivalry, so they have to hype the hell out of it to make up for the lack of the two teams having faced off annually for a long period of time.

As for Hansen, here's a quote:

"Heroes Trophy or not, the Nebraska-Iowa game Friday is a battle between two slightly above-average Big Ten teams that have provided a few highlights this season, but not an abundance of heroics.".

I don't think he's being unfair. Being a slightly above-average Big Ten team this year means a team is borderline worthless.

Don't worry I am in Lincoln for the holiday weekend and the omaha world herald article features a big article questioning the "rivalry" and has a lot of quoted of people saying it isn't a rivalry yet because its so new. Husker fans don't see it as big as hawk fans do.

I could see this as being true. I hate both fan bases, and Nebraska fans may be delusional about their own fanbase, but u do think they understand what a rivalry really means. Talk to Hawkeye fans and it's not so much. I've heard them claim they're rivals with: us, Minny, Wisky, OSU, Illinois, Nebraska, Northwestern and Michigan State.
