Louisville and Cincinnati.

Most likely Louisville and Cincy. BYU would be an atrocious choice. So Sunday games for Conference basketball championships. Lots of other restrictions they would want as well. I really do not understand the obsession for BYU.

I don't understand how the Sunday restriction actually creates a scheduling problem. It's not that difficult to work around.
My choices would be Louisville and Cincinnati, to keep some sort of regional thing alive. At the same time, I don't think that BYU would be that difficult to work with.

Re: Top two choices for 12 team Big 12
I'd prefer if they dialed up a couple of fairly easy wins. Barring some blind savants and some nuns with some pent up lack of sexual contact rage, I think ISU could take both of these schools on a fairly regular basis:
1. Iowa Braille & Sight Saving School
2. CLC Nunnery College

Re: Top two choices for 12 team Big 12
Start from the top and select 2, as is possible:
1) ND
2) BYU
3) Louisville
4) Colorado St

Re: Top two choices for 12 team Big 12
Iowa (so the games matter now)
and
Wisconsin (need a team farther north than ISU)

1. Cincinnati
2. CSU Exactly my thinking on CSU. It's a great school academically (which is important), its a good sized school, their student body comes from all over the country, they bring in a nice Denver market, and I would love to bulid their athletics up so they can beat on CU.

Who can Big 12 realistically get?
Louisville
Cincinnati
The expansion standards have dropped like Lindsay Lohan's clothes.

You can not have the Conference Basketball Championships on Sunday. Traditionally that is the day of the FINALS. BIG exposure for basketball.
Also other sports would not be able to have Sunday games. IMO, BYU is not that great of a catch. What is the reasoning behind wanting BYU? They don't bring a whole lot of TV sets. Logistically they are on an island. Louisville and Cincy make much more sense IMO.

Louisville and Cincinnati. A Big 12 North of ISU, KSU, KU, WVU, Louisville and Cincy would look fantastic for us going forward. Add to it, if Louisville can keep Strong as HC then they're looking pretty good down the line. I feel like there's also a rivalry game with a name involving "Cardinal" somewhere in there.
In reality though, it strengthens the conference as basketball, and connects the eastern part of the conference with adding WVU. It also gives us a realistic chance at winning the North every year.

Re: Top two choices for 12 team Big 12
I don't think ND is all that far fetched considering their non football sports may need another home. Especially if we poach Louisville. I see this scenario playing out:
BYU - Football only (solves the playing on Sunday issue)
ND - All non football sports (on the condition they schedule at least one Big 12 football opponent every year)
Louisville - Total package
