is that a joke?
Personally, I think its unique. My guess is with Big 12 membership, stadium expansion would happen. IMO playing in a small stadium would be a lot less embarassing than playing at Paul Brown with a bunch if empty seats and the Bengals logo everywhere.
I think Louisville is just a slam dunk to join the conference anyway. Why don't we just go to 11 members for now? The Big 10 did it for years, never had a championship game, but that is where we (the Big 12) are at now.
We need to get on them and add them to the conference now, before someone else takes them on.
Then, let the next school emerge somehow. BYU, ND or Cincy will be the main candidates. (Or, get them all and get to 14.)
Heck, I think we should try to poach an SEC school. Kentucky would be great in the Big 12. They would like it for BB, that is for sure. Or would they not like that because they know that the Big 12 is always better in hoops than the lackluster SEC? Worth a shot going after them though IMO. It would be good for us in FB no doubt if UK were added.
Louisville and Houston
This current season they have beaten only one team with a pulse, Michigan St, to go with a bad loss in South Florida and noncompetitive losses against Michigan, USC, and Stanford. The rest of their wins (Pitt, Purdue, Air Force, Navy, Wake Forest, Maryland, Boston College) are all schools that are arguably worse than what you would find in what would have been the Big 12 North this year.
I'm sorry, but you'll never convince me that Notre Dame has a cake walk to the Big 12 Championship Game every single year if they were to join the Big 12. They are consistently the most overrated team every single year based solely on their storied history. But hey, if they want to believe that coming into the Big 12, more power to them.
