Yes, the same Rice team that we beat in MBB by like 30 in South Padre. I think the final was 65-58.

I do not think the Big 12 is very good this year, if we finish 8,9 or 10 it will be pretty bad.

Even early in the season, I had a hunch Big 12 might end up with only 3 bids to the tournament — in preseason, about five seemed reasonable. Just something about how early games had gone — seemingly few dominant teams nationally, and league play wasn't likely to elevate the resume with round robin against a lot of probable non-NCAA teams (Tech, OU, probably ISU).

Missouri is so far cruising, but there will be losses. A&M was picked in a lot of circles to finish 2nd, even ahead of KU (I rarely trust non-KU picks as champions, since it happens almost all the time), so losing to Rice seems to show a little wackiness.

I still say Iowa State has a shot at winning 11 games. Based on play so far, 5-13 is just as likely. It may be one of those weird years in a major conference when double-digit wins don't even get you onto the bubble.

It would be nice of we could sweep all the Texas schools. Besides Baylor I think we could do it.

It's definitely not, and presents a great opportunity for our guys to get their feet under them. I can see the potential for some rough losses here or there, or losing to teams they shouldn't, but if they continue to improve, I think they can reel off several in a row. Definitely not going to proclaim the season over until it's really over. I could see them going 4-8 and then winning the last 6 (or the reverse).
