Okie St. might be in a little trouble with NCAA

Article on front page of MSN, somebody could do the linky thing for me. Basicly, players hanging out with booster and getting improper benefits. Likely in for a wrist slap, scared me for a second when the picture had an ISU player in it.

If the coach tells the team to stop all relationships with the guy, that seems to hint that something was up. On the bright side, it sounds like the school wasn't accepting of it, although that won't change whether it happened or not.

It looks like OSU has been doing a pretty good job self reporting and to me it looks like they are still internally investigating what did occur.

Miami, Ohio St., USC, LSU, Auburn, they've all had issues recently, but watch, They'll stick it to OSU to make an example since they don't have the national prowess of these other teams.

IMO, the NCAA has set their precident with what they have done to the bigger schools lately. Which is basically nothing. Especially if what they say is true and they were trying to sever ties wtih the guy.

USC has a pretty legit beef because they got penalized worse than OSU.

I'd say USC is the current bar for strict punishment, Ohio State is the first team to skate with preferential treatment. We'll see if OSU or somebody else gets hit harder than USC.

I would also put Auburn with tOSU also. I doubt OSU would be hit harder because they seem to be doing something about it.

Still though, considering what was going on, they got off pretty light, imo. I agree they have a beef becaus of how tOSU got off, but it doesn't excuse the fact that players were being bought and sold there. My fear is that without a big National following, OK St. is going to be the poster child for what the NCAA does to violators. It's my biggest fear being an Iowa State fan. I have a feeling that the slightest mistake ever by us and they'll come in and lock us down, to show they still have the might.

Problem with Auburn is that there is still no proof that they did anything wrong... Without proof there is NO WAY you can penalize them. I think OSU got hit pretty hard considering what all went down there.

I thought the big problem was that the NCAA told USC that a parent doing something was as bad as their kid doing something, which wasn't the case for Newton.

why would the okie state boys hang around with a supporter when they have boone pickens to give them 165 million$ back about 3-4 years back.
