Multiple (much more reputable) reports have indicated that it is not true and if you try to head to the reports that said otherwise they have now been removed.

My guess... The agent worked with SC to figure out a deal that would work and they're now very close. Now SC is asking permission to speak with Martin directly to get the deal finalized.
