I doubt it would happen just because lhn is trying to hold cable companies hostage, but it should be a non-negotiable item for Jamie to allow the game on there.
According to KU fans the deal last year was money and broadcast rights for the game (Jayhawk Network). I wouldn't imagine ISU or any other team would settle for anything less than that.
That was just a local broadcast from what I understand. If we agreed to that, then we'd end up with mediacom showing the game which won't help half the state anyway. Since this is just a ploy to put pressure on local cable companies, I doubt they'd allow an internet stream. But, If ESPN/LHN agree to cyclones.tv then great. If not, move along.

KU fans made it sound like they were able to show it via online means, but I could be wrong.
Anyways I am in agreement with you; digital/online availability of the game would have to be a priority if ISU were to make this deal.

We all know Texas is the cash cow, if 25% of their games are on tier 3 the Big 12 packages suffers.
How does it suffer if we've already agreed to a contract?

We have not yet (at least not announced). ESPN is the only one bidding right now. They know they have LHN already and can move Texas games. Opening this up to NBC, Fox and maybe CBS would cost ESPN dearly to get games on LHN.
Re: LHN likely to show 3 football games this fall
If we get $3M like KU did last year, I'm all for it. No problem here.

Agreed, if the price is right let's do it - as long as there is some way to watch it in Iowa (cyclones.tv, ABC5 simulcast or something). No problem with this as long as I can watch and we get paid

I actually would be ok doing it even if we couldn't watch it. Walters has our back. I can miss one game if we are getting that type of cash out of it.
Re: LHN likely to show 3 football games this fall
Only two things come from Texas. Steers and bad television networks!! I hope one of the games is ISU and we beat them in their house again!!
Re: LHN likely to show 3 football games this fall
Idk, but I think the question no one is asking is, he thinks we will both have good seasons, whats a good season by ISU standards? 14-0/15-0? (BCS Playoff) 8-5? 11-2? 7-6?

Hell, I want to watch the game in Texas, and LHN is pretty much unavailable, so it'd have to be on Cyclones.tv!

You still have to ask yourself, "If a tree falls down on the Longhorn Network, meaning virtually no one can witness it because a year later virtually nobody still has access to it, does it make a sound?"

I would be too. Plus I'm sure it would still end up streamed on first row sports or another site.

I wonder if the Iowa State game will be the conference game since its in Austin? In the end I think this will be a BIG game as I see both teams have good seasons so I expect it on ABC/ESPN.
7 viewers are expected to see the 3 games.
