Re: Florida State Trustees want to explore Big 12
In terms of local schools, I guess we could look at Nebraska and Missouri.
Re: Florida State Trustees want to explore Big 12
The only real downside to FSU joining is the distance they are from any other Big 12 city. Otherwise, they bring a solid football program that's trying to rebound from a few years of "only" winning 7-9 games, yet still has a high national profile. FSU also is seeing a renaissance in men's basketball. They've been to the Elite 8 in women's basketball, the Final Four in volleyball, and are excellent year-in and year-out in baseball and softball. All that recognition means fans. And all those fans mean tv money.
It's going to be an interesting summer to see if a deal can be worked out. Can't wait to see how it all shakes out, now that we're not the ones wringing our hands and sweating someone else's decision(s).

You obviously aren't aware that Morgantown is closer to Ames than Lubbock. And who are we replacing that we competed against?

I REALLY appreciate fresh threads like this with new information. I've been taken to task on several occasions by the same stocker for posting new info. I've chose to ignore those types of idiots. Thanks!
Re: Florida State Trustees want to explore Big 12
So could FSU speaking up bring out other ACC schools that are "football schools"? Maybe Va Tech could feel the same way?
Re: Florida State Trustees want to explore Big 12
Interesting, clearly this guy thought about this and about what to say and who to say it to, no accident Warchant is reporting it. Going to be a very interesting summer. If we ever play at Florida State, I am going to be there.
I think I prefer the round robin, but if FSU is available, you have to take them I think.

Maybe you shouldn't talk about CF at Hy-Vee?
Re: Florida State Trustees want to explore Big 12
Here's a thought, if FSU comes alone do you take them? That would probably be very financially beneficial, but would put us at an odd number and FSU would be very isolated.

FSU wouldn't be a 1 team addition. They will have a partner.
Either they pull someone from the ACC or the Big 12 gives in and lets Louisville in.

or at the very least, a Louisville tag along.
Re: Florida State Trustees want to explore Big 12
Talked to a Seminole buddy. He said that the BOT essentially is in charge of the university.
"Our BOT hires the president and basically tells him what to do."

I don't think FSU is coming alone. We all know that supposedly Clemson wants in, so to me it's not a matter of "are they coming alone?" but "who are they bringing with them?"
