Do you want Notre Dame in the Big 12?

Yes, I don't think you realize the value of Notre Dame, regardless of performance. They are a cash cow, and it doesn't matter how irrelevant they have been on the football field the past few years they are still every conference's dream school.

If it happens soon, ND will join as partial members. We'll be the BIG 12.5 after adding FSU and Clemson. The conference will mandate that after ND's NBC contract runs out in 2015 they would then become full members.

I wouldn't be so sure that their fanbase remains as relatively large as it is today in the future. There are many factors working against this (size of the school, slow-growing local population, and of course their continued slide into football irrelevance).

Where did I say that ND isn't valuable? I'm not arguing that point. The topic is whether we want them in the Big 12, and for various reasons, I say no.

I truly could not care less about any of that. Notre Dame joining the Big 12 results in a huge payday for Iowa State and a phenomenal feather in the Big 12's cap. They are the best possible addition for our conference.

Which game would Iowans rather watch... Notre Dame-Iowa State, or the famous Big Ten protected rivalry matchup, Iowa-Purdue? That could certainly fill up a 62,000-seat Jack Trice Stadium, paid for with the money we got from ND joining the conference....

I would love it, because South Bend is very close to Chicago and having ND would great for the conference. I just can't ever imagine ISU playing those d-bags though. I just can't imagine them ever rolling into Jack Trice, but then again, Texas had humbled themselves enough to come play us. Who knows.

But like everyone else said, it has to be equal. They can have their ND network and make X million on that, but everyone gets the same deal or I don't want them.
