Of course, one of the main reasons TCU was very important, and it was a demand of the other Big 12 teams, was recruiting. Keeping another Texas school in really solidifies Texas as recruiting grounds for those Big 12 schools not in Texas.

I think the only Big12 team that helps for recruiting in Texas is TCU. aTm is still is Texas so that just adds another team in a big conference for those kids to go to instead of leaving the state. Also aTm going to the SEC gets all those SEC schools feet a little in the door as far as Texas recruiting.
