I actually really like this completely implausible fantasy. Us and KU to the BoneG, Texas and WV to the ACC, OU and K-State to SEC, Tech+OKState+Baylor+TCU to PAC. If the PAC wants to screw one of Baylor and TCU and take BYU instead, it's cool by me.

Louisville does have some cache as a MBB national brand but they don't add sufficient TV value for FB to justify the B12 adding them which is exactly why they heading to the ACC. They are the first commuter school in the ACC which should tell you how desperate the ACC is. Louisville has the highest revenue producing men's basketball program in the nation.

I always love when people try to make this point as if it matters. Not only does no one care how much money the athletic department is claiming (AD's have a lot of freedom in how they disclose their books), it legitimately holds exactly zero weight.
Louisville posting those numbers all over the place is nothing more than putting lipstick on a pig.

Also...don't come on our board and talk like ISU is on the outside looking in but KU has a place at the table. That's pompous and arrogant. Big 12 is the best place for us all.

Re: ***OFFICIAL BIG 12 EXPANSION THREAD 2.0***
Looks like BYU might be joining the Mountain West again... BYU to MWC goes from being rumor to confirmed report & more - Mountain West Connection
If true, Boise rejoined with the condition that San Diego State got in before anybody else, so that'd push MWC to a 13 team league with Boise, SDSU, and BYU. Houston and/or SMU to join as #14 (or 15)?
I can't see Navy joining the Big East now that the league is on the brink of going away and there is nobody left for the Big East to invite that is half-way worthy of an invite...Realignment wheel spins on until the Big10 and SEC decide to end it someday.

Louisville posting those numbers all over the place is nothing more than putting lipstick on a pig. Baloney. The financial numbers submitted to EADA are used (among other submitted data) to determine compliance with Title IX. The AD's can't go submitting whatever the hec they want on that report to make the AD look good, unless they want to risk fines/punishment should the Feds/NCAA determine that the numbers are fudged.
Of course AD revenue matters. No major conference is going to ask a school to join if that school doesn't have the revenue to support the minimum level of facilities that the conference deems necessary, no matter what potential TV market that school may have.

The Big 10 just took two teams in the black. Numbers can be cooked up very easily. Duke basketball lost money in 2010, yet Duke basketball brings more to a conference than ISU basketball.

Maryland can't afford to gas up the team bus yet they somehow managed to land in the B10. Your argument is false.

Maryland can afford to gas up the team bus, but just not for all of the sports they once supported. Maryland may presently be losing money, but their gross revenue is still sufficient to allow them to compete in the Big Ten. Granted their revenue will be at the lower end of the Big Ten, but not the lowest. And the cash infusion from the Big Ten will help them out nicely.

Re: ***OFFICIAL BIG 12 EXPANSION THREAD 2.0***
We need to expand, I understand the whole making more money with ten and do not bring in teams that do not add to the pot thing. In the end I just do not want the Big Twelve on the outside looking in again. Once Maryland knows what they will pay teams and conferences will make decisions quickly.

Re: ***OFFICIAL BIG 12 EXPANSION THREAD 2.0***
Looks like the Big 12 is trying to get the NCAA to play a title game. I think this is a good idea but its more posturing waiting till the Maryland lawsuit is decided so that the B1G and SEC and hopefully the Big 12 can go to the ACC schools they want and get them to join. I agree I don't think Navy stays in agreement with Big East
